I/we are not bloggers who take much notice of statistics. We don't constantly check up who or what is driving the blog forward. I/we post what we feel we want to share and that is the jist of it.
So it does surprise us that the statistic on show, the number of hits on the site, has reached the amazing figure of 30,000+.
We never imagined for one minute that so many would have checked out the site for one reason or another. There are some amazing blogs to read on the web so it's all the more of a surprise. Staggering in fact.
So can we just say a big thank you to all who have taken the trouble to visit and hopefully taken something of use away with them whether it be gear, retail or MYOG or a just short walking route.
Many Thanks
Regards
Alan and Sheila.
Happy Blogday!

Well done, you two. You have to add all those visits via Google Reader to get a true figure for visitors, so all you will ever get is a rough estimate. You've attracted an impressive number of followers in a very short time (the gear reviews attract them I think).
ReplyDeleteKeep up the good work.

Well done, Alan & Sheila! While the statistics are not that important (for me either, btw), it is anyway nice to know there is someone out there reading what you write!
ReplyDeleteKeep up the good work!
Brian,
ReplyDeleteThanks for your comments, always welcome.
Martin,
I wouldn’t know how to add the google reader visits. The actual figure will be more, i know because when i first started adding gadgets i actually lost my original hit counter and the info too. It’s all been a learning curve but an enjoyable one.
Thanks for all your support.
James,
ReplyDeleteCheers, Thanks to you and Reuben. Great blog btw.
Maria,
Blogging can be quite strange, when you see the hit counter rising you think i hope they find what i am sharing acceptable. But so many don’t leave a comment, you then start to think well maybe it is rubbish.
The good thing about it though, we have met some lovely people who we wouldn’t have ever got the chance to meet or communicate with. And we have learnt so much.
Thanks for your comments.
Congratulations Alan.
ReplyDeleteGibson,
ReplyDeleteAs always, your comments and blog are very much appreciated. Thanks.
just adding my congrats Alan. I have only recently re-discovered your blog and now subscribed.

I must thankyou specifically for a post you wrote on the Alkit Gourdon. (back when I was a lurker of blogs seeking to find my way around lightweight backpacking) It wasnt for the Gourdon itself, but for the link you gave to the Exped pack in that same post. It has been a wonderful pack and I have used it constantly for 3 season walks and simple overnighters since.
Congrats indeed! Always an interesting read here.
ReplyDeleteI'm still experiencing problems with my Google Account sign in when I try to comment on your blog!
So for now I'm Anonymous - but really I'm Laura:)
P.S. Don't tell the Gremlins!
Hi David and many thanks for your comments. I must admit i hadn't come across your blog. I will find the time now to look at it deeper.
ReplyDeleteYou know i also wrote up a review on the Exped daypack, took photo’s and everything and then i decided not to blog it.
I was too interested in making the Gourdon better at the time.
It is nice thought the Exped but it doesn’t hold as much as the Gourdon size for size.
Anonymouse!
ReplyDeleteWell i winder why you are having problems. Laura i havn’t changed any settings for ages apart from the header picture.
And others who use blogger don’t seem to be having problems.
Anyway, Thank you for your kind words.
Better late than never - Well done both of you. I always enjoy coming over to yours with a coffee...
