Can I give NHS Vaccine injections?

Many people already trained to give injections have been confronted with this pile of RED TAPE. So they back off. Utter ridiculous and may cost lives.

The checklist to become an NHS vaccinator

Recognising and managing anaphylaxis

Resuscitation, level 2

Safeguarding adults, level 2

Safeguarding children, level 2

Vaccine administration

Vaccine storage

Health, Safety and Welfare, level 1

Infection Prevention and control, level 2

Introduction to Anaphylaxis

Legal aspects of vaccination

Moving and Handling, level 1

Preventing radicalisation, level 1

Conflict resolution, level 1

Core knowledge for Covid-19 vaccinators

Covid mRNA vaccine BNT162b2 (Pfizer BioNTech Covid-19 vaccine)

Data security awareness, level 1

Equality, Diversity and Human rights, level 1

Fire safety, level 1

NO WONDER ITS GOING TO TAKE OVER 12 MONTHS TO VACCINATE THE POPULOUS. HOW PREVENTING RADICALISATION HELPS GIVE INJECTIONS IS SHEER MIND BLOWING.

  1. All you need to become a vaccinator is half an hour's practice on an orange- not a university degree.
I'd offered to volunteer but was told I was too old and vulnerable.
I can see another 'cock-up' coming along, as you say it will drag on for months.
Boris is talking vaguely of "tens of millions by Spring" - vague enough to ignore when the time comes and questions are being asked.

    1. Completely agree. There are many first aiders, dentists, beauticians etc trained to give injections who won’t volunteer because of this red tape. It’s pathetic.

  2. I think we'll be lucky not to be in full lockdown until Easter...I don't think it's just Boris, he's surrounded himself with yes men....they show a level of incompetence which is beyond comparison.
    Take care

    1. Exactly. The only qualification needed to be in Johnson’s cabinet is that you supported Brexit. All lightweights.

    2. I think we will be in lockdown very soon. Even though I feel as if I’ve been in lockdown for the last 4 months. The trouble is Piers Morgan is the only opposition asking questions.

    3. Hi Gibson, as you know I voted to leave EU so I can’t knock him for doing just that. It was such a mess though.

    4. I wasn’t making a Brexit point Alan. I just think a Cabinet should consist of people with ability, not just those who supported ‘Leave’ in the referendum. On vaccinators, even retired doctors are required to do some of these modules to confirm they are up to date. It’s just plain mad.

  3. I know you wasn't Gibson. They keep going on about more testing and more testing. They have proved that testing doesn't work as proved in Liverpool. They should stop the testing brigade and get the vaccine rolled out and implemented quicker. Use the army for it as well. Im sure that they could train anyone to give an injection within an hour. It must be possible or people with diabetes self injecting insulin wouldn't be able to do it.

    1. Agree. Vaccinate, vaccinate, vaccinate. We now appear to be in a full lockdown - doesn’t sound as if we can even drive a few miles for exercise but as usual it’s a bit ambiguous.

  4. The rules say you can drive to open spaces as long as it’s local. Ie close to home. That’s my interpretation anyway.

  5. Equality, Diversity and Human rights:- FFS!.

I always wondered about the value of testing in the big picture, after all it merely shows the result (within error limits) at the time of the test. Where does that get us really?.

Amazingly we received a call tonight: Vivien (my wife) has been invited for her first jab on Saturday. I thought all the NHS and frontline workers hadn't been done yet, not to mention the over 80s.

  6. Yes. The mind boggles. That’s great news about Vivian. The more the merrier. I guess there will be rules that what ever vaccine is provided to certain centers, has to be used up at that centre. It can’t be transferred somewhere else. Some unclassified person might have mucked about with it. Yawn.
